-- Lyrics --

Grey morning, great afternoon, woke up in a sad tune. I put all my hopes on something impossible, now my heart is in ruin. Do me a favour, don't call me up. Speaking of the devil interrupting my blues. Taking me out of my routine and then cutting the news. You can't be part time lover, you've got to beat it till it dies. Put me through some more. No, I can't breathe when you are there. It's obviously you who's on top and in control. I don't feel blessed or particularly lucky by your side. It's just something that keeps me alive. There is no other you. How many stranger will I have to do. Words I can't even say. Emotions I wish I could feel. I running after something you only find when you don't look for.

All I had to say was said but not necessarily heard. As usual straight up was your head with my words six feet over it. You can't get over it. Do you ever get tired of it? Positive plus positive equals negative. It takes days just to return a phone call. Season of change? That doesn't excuse you at all. I got to know who you were. I know where you keep your house, car key, just tell me where your heart key is. Now days, I find it hard to be me. Beat me till I find a way to really be me so you care. Show you how much of a nightmare your independence is. This is a game for kids. Who's the last one you did? You've got a better bid? There is an other me. Remember that one time you guys really got to meet? You looked destabilized, unfortunately surprise. Is there a bad reason to be in a good mood.

Even though, you feel like you've got to know
Leave it all there

about

Jesse Mac Cormack Montreal, Québec

SOLO is the sound of that transformation, recorded over the course of a year and a half, marked by its hardships but also its relief. Across 10 rippling tracks, the singer summons a sonic world that's razor-edged and intimate, influenced by the textured electronics of James Blake, Caribou and SUUNS. Drum machines stutter under blooms of synths; curses float below swirls of loving sound. ... more
