My initial goal was to write a song using African ternary rhythm in order to create a trance in concert. The lyrics are about the birth and death of relationships, how you must let them go when seasons change, when it’s time to look for new paths. There is no shortcut for those things. You have to go through them.

Drink a lie, tranquilize
Know it high, you’re always high
Know it low, under the halo I show
Give it all that you ask from the palm of my hand
Know me deeply as I was once blessed
Come a long way to find
Gonna end up apart
Change your mind, waste some time
For the sake of my, me, mine
Stay open, stay alive
There is no sense, only life
I will change, I will kill
I will fuck, we will bleed
Only know how it feels
To be touched once inside
Only fear, you know it all
Just stepped foot in the hall
Let it die in the fall
Let it grow in the spring
Give a chance, give a chance
Give a glance to begin
Don’t belong to anyone
Never done, you go on
Switch bulb of your sun
When you can’t trigger fun
Let it die in the fall
Let it die when it calls
Give a chance, give a chance
Give a glance once for all
There’s a gap in the middle
And it’s too wide to jump across
Ain’t no other way than climbing down
And up again
Ain’t no other way than climbing down
And up again
We come a long way to find
We’re gonna end up apart
We come a long way
Way to find
Way to find
We’re gonna end up apart
We’re gonna end up apart
We’re gonna end up apart

SOLO is the sound of that transformation, recorded over the course of a year and a half, marked by its hardships but also
its relief. Across 10 rippling tracks, the singer summons a sonic world that's razor-edged and intimate, influenced by the textured electronics of James Blake, Caribou and SUUNS. Drum machines stutter under blooms of synths; curses float below swirls of loving sound....more
Un excellent album de lo-fi hiphop qui m'a souvent laissé chanter certains refrains au travail sans m'en rendre compte. J'suis fier que cet album vienne du Québec <3 Alex Jesus
