about

Under the influence of drugs, daily stress is put on hold for a few hours. This automatically gives us the impression of connecting with a part of ourselves that’s in the real world, which only peaks through once in a while. It’s a state of mind or substance I might have preferred not to discover. After that, the perception of pleasure remains affected by these experiences.

lyrics

-- Lyrics --

And I
And I
And I

And I let you go just as you took me in
And I can’t separate an end from where it begins
Don’t know what the hell is going on
Losing myself, I want the light
I want the light to ever go on

It’s a fire that refuses to be touched
‘Cause I like it so much
It’s the romance I wish I had never met
‘Cause I never can forget
It’s the moment I stop lying to myself
‘Cause I like it so much
Losing myself, I want the light
I want the light to ever go on

And I know my heart is pounding way too fast
And the souvenirs attached to it won’t last
You can kill me know I’m ready to die
Losing myself, I want the light
I want the light to ever go on

It’s a fire that refuses to be touched
‘Cause I like it so much
It’s the romance I wish I had never met
‘Cause I never can forget

It’s a fire that refuses to be touched
‘Cause I like it so much
It’s the romance I wish I had never met
‘Cause I never can forget
It’s the moment I stop lying to myself
‘Cause I like it so much
Losing myself, I want the light to ever go on

about

Jesse Mac Cormack Montreal, Québec

SOLO is the sound of that transformation, recorded over the course of a year and a half, marked by its hardships but also its relief. Across 10 rippling tracks, the singer summons a sonic world that's razor-edged and intimate, influenced by the textured electronics of James Blake, Caribou and SUUNS. Drum machines stutter under blooms of synths; curses float below swirls of loving sound. ... more
