about

A song obviously about addiction. Something you don't like that destroys you bit by bit each time, everyday. It's a known fact that it pollutes you. You seemed to be able to get away from it at times but it always haunts you in the back of your mind. An addiction that is quite new and touches mostly men. It puts normal sexuality into a little plastic box a makes you leave it there, on a shelf, untouched.

lyrics

-- Lyrics --

I just want a sip of it
One last time and then that's it
I'm out of this twisted shit
Believe or not, I'm hit
I just want the rush it gives
Even if it's not how people live
And remember how stupid it feels

I will spend another day
Staring at you
Destroying me

Wonder on which side is taking me
Showing me stuff I don't wanna see
I know it's cracking the days in two
But does it separate me from you
Will I ever ever see it again?
Will I ever ever feel it again?
Now that I have spent too many nights alone
I tell ya, these things will get to your bones

I will spend another day
Staring at you
Destroying me

Deep in the ditch
There's everything I wanna see
A pill and a bitch
The temporary remedy
Not someone's soul
A stone cold perfect body
I'd love to get back
I wanna get back...

about

Jesse Mac Cormack Montreal, Québec

SOLO is the sound of that transformation, recorded over the course of a year and a half, marked by its hardships but also its relief. Across 10 rippling tracks, the singer summons a sonic world that's razor-edged and intimate, influenced by the textured electronics of James Blake, Caribou and SUUNS. Drum machines stutter under blooms of synths; curses float below swirls of loving sound. ... more
